Updating Software
Upon every boot, Spectranext checks for updates automatically, and if there are any,
- It downloads an update in the background, with no interference to main operation, with the LED frequently flashing.
- After download is complete, the LED with "breathe" indicating it is ready to be installed.
Automatic Upgrade
To install it, once it is ready, simply reboot ZX Spectrum. User will be prompted to perform the installation, after which Spectranext will reboot automatically.
Manual Recovery or Upgrade
If an update fails or system becomes inoperational and the device won't boot:
- Power Off ZX Spectrum and disconnect USB-C if connected
- Hold tiny recovery button
- Connect USB-C Cable to your computer
- Release recovery button
- Notice a new USB Drive appears
- Navigate to ota.spectranext.net and download an uf2 file
- Drag-and-drop downloaded file onto USB Drive
- Done
